Training Protocol: Scoring RF on The Parent Development Interview
Protocol for becoming reliable on the PDI/RF Scoring System:
- Complete the RF PDI Training course
- Complete 5 PDI Practice Set interviews
- Review scores with the faculty, and resolve differences.
- Complete Reliability Set #1, which includes 10 interviews.
- Coder must score an average of 80% agreement on individual variable and overall scores
- Review all scores with the faculty, and resolves differences
- If 80% criterion is not achieved, coder must complete Reliability Set #2, which includes 5 interviews.
- Review all scores with the faculty, and resolve differences
Protocol for becoming a trainer in PDI/RF Scoring System:
- Train to reliability (as described above).
- Code an additional 10 interviews prepared for trainers.
- Coder must achieve an average of 80% agreement on individual variable and overall scores
- Review all scores with the faculty, and resolve differences. For the trainers, this step is very important, so as to insure maximum reliability with expert coders.
- Once trained, trainer must take a 3 interview reliability re-test every year once training is complete.
Note: The fee for training trainers will be determined by the individual faculty member in consultation with the trainee.
Training Protocol: Scoring RF on the Pregnancy Interview
Protocol for becoming reliable on the PI/RF Scoring System without prior training on the PDI/RF or AAI/RF Scoring System:
- Complete the training in PI/RF system
- Complete 5 PI Practice Set interviews
- Complete PI Reliability Set #1, which includes 10 interviews.
- Coder must score an average of 80% agreement on individual variable and overall scores
- Review all scores with the faculty, and resolve differences
- If this criterion is not achieved, coder must complete Reliability Set #2, which includes 5 interviews.
- Review all scores with faculty, and resolve differences
Protocol for becoming reliable on the PI/RF Scoring System WITH prior training on the PDI/RF or AAI/RF Scoring System:
- Complete the RF training program on the PDI or the AAI
- If more than 5 years has elapsed since coder has passed reliability test for the AAI or PDI course, coder must re-take and pass Reliability #1 test on the PDI.
- Complete a 2 day training in PI/RF system
- Complete PI Reliability Set #1, which includes 10 interviews.
- Coder must score an average of 80% agreement on individual variable and overall scores
- Review all scores with the faculty, and resolve differences
- If this criterion is not achieved, coder must complete Reliability Set #2, which includes 5 interviews.
- Review all scores with faculty, and resolve differences
Guidelines for Becoming Reliable on the PDI/PI
To become a trainer in PI/RF coding:
